  How to do Company Research

Company Research

Seemingly, the most obvious thing to do to prepare for an interview is to research the company. However, many interviewers will attest to the lack of prepared candidates that they see. A few tips on how to research your company:

  • Search the employer's website. Plenty of valuable current information exists online, readily accessible, and easy to understand.
  • Check newspapers and industry periodicals for business trends that the company is experiencing.
  • Read up on innovative ideas that are related to the company's business. Anytime you can talk about a new concept or opportunity for the company, your value to the company greatly increases.
  • Search the company's competitors to learn about their business strategies. This kind of information makes you look like an expert.
